“We chose to invest in the addition of Safety Pods to reduce the need for RPI. An example of one case would be a student whose behaviour was escalating and was likely to need floor RPI.“

The pod was purchased so that POD RPI could be used if required rather than floor as we do not use floor RPI. It allowed the placement to be maintained. But rather than using is reactively the student uses it proactively, meaning behaviours do not occur.

The students really enjoy using the Safety Pod and it is currently used proactively in all cases with students using it to self-regulate. It supports engagement and self-regulation. Safety Pods have supported us in providing the highest standard of care by reducing behaviours and use of RPI.
